Who are we

Screen Changers works for the benefit of women, young people and minority groups, and responds to the challenges surrounding religion in society.

We do this through multi-media programming which supports audiences to interact, learn, build confidence and make positive changes in their lives.

We work only in the broader Middle East and North Africa region, engaging with long established local partners for both production and broadcasting.

Our Vision

Our vision is for a world free of persecution and poverty, where human dignity and difference are respected, and all people are able to exercise their rights regardless of ability, gender, religion or ethnicity.

Our Mission

Our mission is to design and implement cutting-edge multi-media programming that transcends illiteracy, prejudice and the barriers created by conflict and population movements; especially for the empowerment of women and young people, minority groups and the displaced; and to collaborate with others to build synergies in our collective development efforts.

Our Values

At Screen Changers our values are part of our DNA – they guide the way we work with our audiences, our stakeholders and each other.

Innovation – We seek to reach our audiences in fresh and engaging ways.

Creativity - Creativity is our lifeblood.

Communication- We adapt to reach our audiences where they are.

Collaboration- We work in partnership with production houses, broadcasters, civil society and governments.

Respect- We treat others with respect and seek to learn from them.

Empowerment - Building knowledge and confidence to enable positive change is fundamental to our effort.

Accountability – We are accountable to our audiences, partners, donors, host governments, charity regulators, staff and trustees – individually and corporately – for both our actions and attitudes.

Achievement- We go the extra mile and push the boundaries to produce outstanding work. We deliver quality on time and to budget.  We are committed to measuring progress and evaluating results.

Our History

Screen Changers was founded in 2014 in response to the situation of women, young people and minority groups in the Middle East and North Africa region.

Local production and broadcasting partners have been producing programming to inspire positive social change for many years, but their efforts have been intermittent and small in scale. Screen Changers brings the design and monitoring and evaluation expertise, harnesses the talent of local producers and collaborates with others to leverage scale and impact – filling the niche for a dedicated media for development actor in this region.
